Organising a birthday party for a 5-year-old
When you have children their birthdays, along with Christmas, are the main events in your life. Everything seems to revolve around them. The little ones begin talking about the presents and the party weeks before the actual celebration, and they keep on talking about it months after that.
Children are overexcited, more or less, about everything and when it comes to birthdays – you can’t go wrong with whatever you decide to do. Yet, this doesn’t mean that planning and throwing a party is easy.
There are 3 main phases of each party:
Getting ready for the party
The party itself
Dealing with the aftermath
Ironically (or not) the actual event is the shortest stage. It’s also the only one that is actually fun. The preparation and cleaning afterwards, on the other hand, can be quite a hustle.
In order to impress the children, you need to have mapped out how the whole celebration will unfold. You need to have not only great food and drinks and colourful decorations, you also need to have different games and other things to keep the little ones entertained. And if this is not nerve-racking enough, you also have to impress the parents of your guests. After all, no 5-year old goes to a party on his/her own. In order to achieve this, you have to perform thoroughly house cleaning that will be available for the children and their parents. A good idea would be to use a professional cleaning company. This will save you so much time and it will make life much easier, especially if you are working full-time.
As for the aftermath – this may be even more stressful. One child can do quite a lot of damages to a house so you can imagine what 10 children can do. Buy a few plastic bags and put there all the trash that was left after the guests. Then try to take back all the things back to the room and places where they belong. Only after that begin carpet cleaning and sweeping. In case you discover stains on your sofa or carpet that you did not notice during the event, you may want to consider having the carpet or sofa sanitised professionally – trying to deal with them on your own may actually cause more damage.
